BITAG joined the foodpanda management in the call to stop the abuse and humiliation against delivery riders.
The management of FoodPanda online delivery apps last October 27, condemned the increasing prevalence of assault, humiliation, and harassment of Food Panda delivery riders.
One of these is the case of a rider who sought the help of Pambansang Sumbungan #ipaBITAGmo after being hit and humiliated by an irritated customer.
The incident happened after the customer “Pandoray” (not her true name) got frustrated in a long wait for the rider.
The video sent by the complainant, Herwin Torres, to #ipaBITAGmo clearly shows how the customer humiliated and yelled at him.
Video recording also captured the incident of physical assault perpetrated on the evading rider.
In a statement sent by foodpanda to the investigative team of BITAG Multimedia Network (BMN), the management asserted that it is not acceptable to hurt anyone of their Panda Delivery Partners.
“Mariing kinokondena ng foodpanda ang anumang uri ng pang-aabuso sa kapwa partikular sa aming freelance delivery partners (Ka-Panda Partners) – maging pisikal man o berbal,” ayon sa kalatas ng FoodPanda Management,” says to the statement of FoodPanda Management.
According to the management, an investigation has been rolling on the complaint of their freelance rider.
If they found the probability of the complaint, the management vowed to take action on the incident.
Management said they will deactivate the customer’s subscription to their delivery platform if she was found guilty.
That means, “Pandoray”, the anger-fuming customer, will no longer be able to order through their online food delivery platform.
“Anumang insidente na napatunayan ang pang-aabuso ng customer ay mahigpit na tatanggalan ng access sa foodpanda platform,” the statement read.
Meanwhile, the firm position of fearless investigative journalist Ben Tulfo is clear that there is no room for Pambansang Sumbungan #ipaBITAGmo any forms of abuse and irregularities, especially concerning poor and powerless citizens.
