Dismayado ang Filipino mixed martial artist (MMA) na si Eduard Folayang sa aniya’y ‘premature’ stoppage ng referee sa laban nila ni Edson Marques ngayong araw.
Hininto ng referee ang laban sa huling yugto ng second round matapos sumubsob sa lona si Folayang dahil sa mga pinakawalang kombinasyon ng Brazilian fighter.
“Hindi naman ako nablanko. Napasubsob lang ako. I think napaaga ‘yung stoppage masyado,” komento ni Folayang sa post-fight interview ng ABS-CBN Sports.
Sinabi ni Folayang na nagulat siya nang magdesisyon ang referee na itigil ang laban at ibigay ang technical knockout (TKO) victory kay Marques.
“Naghahanap ako ng magandang resulta. Pero ‘di ko nakuha. Palagay ko, kaya ko pa namang i-manage yung laban, pero kinabahan ata sila kasi napasubsob ako,” anang Filipino fighter.
Dahil sa muling pagkabigo sa laban ni Folayang, maraming analyst ang nagsasabing mahihirapan na itong makabalik sa limelight o tugatog ng kampeonato.
Ang pagkatalo ni Folayang kay Marques ay ika-limang sunod na talo nito sa MMA.
“Nagawa na yung decision. There’s no reason para pa habulin,” pagtatapos ni Folayag.
