Kinumpirma ni House Deputy Speaker Ralph Recto ang pagpanaw ng kanyang kapatid na si dating Batangas Vice Gov. Richard “Ricky” Recto na natagpuang wala ng buhay sa kanyang bahay sa Valle Verde, Pasig City.
Sa isang maikling pahayag, humingi si Recto ng pang-unawa sa publiko at humiling na bigyan sila ng panahon para maipag-luksa ang pagkamatay ng kanyang kapatid.
“With sadness, we share the news that our brother Ricky has passed away. Words are hard to come by to express the sorrow of losing him, but we take comfort in our fond memories of him to overcome the pain we feel,” ani Recto.
Hindi idinetalye ni Recto ang pagkamatay ng kanyang kapatid.
“We are touched by your kind words and prayers, but in the meantime, we ask for the time and space to grieve in private,” dagdag ng kongresista.
Inaresto ng mga pulis si Ricky noong July matapos itong ireklamo ng kanyang dating girlfriend ng paglabag sa Violence Against Women and Children at nahulihan din ito ng baril.
