Sa pagpasok ng 2023 muling nagpaalala ang Department of Health (DOH) sa mga kababayan natin na huwag maging kampante sa banta ng COVID-19.
Sa kabila ng pagbaba ng mga kaso, hinihimok ang publiko na sumunod pa rin sa minimum public health standards sa ilalim ng Alert Level 1.
Ayon sa tala DOH, mula January 2-8, 2023, mayroon 3,127 na bagong kaso ang naitala sa bansa o 447 average na kaso kada araw.
Mas mababa ito ng 9% kung ikukumpara sa mga kaso noong December 26-January 1.
Dagdag pa ng ahensya, mahigit 73 milyong indibidwal o 94.48% ng target na populasyon ang bakunado laban sa COVID-19. Habang nasa 21 milyon naman ang nakatanggap na ng kanilang booster shots.
Hinihikayat pa din ang mga kababayan na panatilihin magsuot ng best-fitted face mask at manatili sa mga well-ventilated na mga lugar upang makaiwas sa banta ng sakit.
Payo ng DOH oras na makaramdam ng sintomas, agad na mag-isolate upang hindi na kumalat ang virus.
