Pinangunahan ng Department of Health (DOH) ang inagurasyon ng human milk bank sa Dr. Jose Fabella Memorial Hospital (DJFMH) bilang pagsulong sa kahalagahan ng breastfeeding sa mga sanggol.
Kasama sa inagurasyon sina DOH Undersecretary Nestor F. Santiago, Jr., Assistant Secretary Dr. Beverly Lorraine Ho at Senator Pia Cayetano.
Ang human milk bank ang magsisilbing katuwang ng National Breastfeeding Program ng gobyerno upang makaiwas sa anumang komplikasyon ang mga sanggol tulad ng congenital abnormalities, birth asphyxia, at iba pang impeksyon.
Makakatulong din ito na mas maagap ang pangongolekta, pagpo-proseso, at pag-iimbak ng mga donasyong gatas upang maging epektibo ang pamamahagi nito.
Sa pahayag ni DOH Officer-in-Charge Maria Rosario Vergeire na binasa ni Dr. Ho, nagpasalamat siya sa mga donor at opisyales ng DJFMH na tumulong at sumuporta upang maisakatuparan ang proyektong human milk bank.
