Pasok sa final 12 ng Gilas pilipinas ang UAAP Rookie of the Year na si Kevin Quiambao. Si Quiambao ang pumalit kay Calvin Oftana para pandagdag defensa ng Team Jordan na gaganapin mamaya February 27 sa Philippine Arena.
Dahil sa kakulangan ng malalaking player ng Pilipinas, minabuti ni Coach Chot Reyes na ipasok ang 6’8 at UAAP Rookie of the year na si KQ upang maging kapalitan nina June Mar Fajardo at Mason Amos. Si Quiambao na nag-tala sa huling window ng FIBA Qualifiers ay gumagawa ng 3.3 points per game, 1.7 rebounds at 2.0 assist per game.
Aasahan hindi lang sa scoring si Quiambao kundi sa passing abilities niya. Matatandaan noong huling FIBA Asia Cup ay gumawa ng 9 assist kontra India ang rookie na si Kevin Quiambao.
Makakasama ni KQ sina June Mar Fajardo, Mason Amos, Kiefer Ravena, Thirdy Ravena, Bobby Ray Parks Jr., Dwight Ramos, CJ Perez, Scottie Thompson, Jordan Heading, Justin Brownlee, at si Jamie Malonzo.
Samantala, ninanais naman ng Gilas Pilipinas na manalo kontra Team Jordan mamaya upang maidala ang kanilang momentum patungo sa FIBA World cup na gaganapin sa August.
Sa nangyaring laban kontra Lebanon noong biyernes kung saan ay nanalo ang Gilas Pilipinas 107-96, inaasahan na maidadala nila ang kanilang high scoring performance kontra Jordan upang maitapos ng maganda ang kanilang huling laro sa FIBA World Cup Qualifiers.
Kahit na no-bearing game ang larong ito sa parehong koponan, gusto ng Pilipinas na matapos ang final window na panalo at dala ang momentum habang ninanais ng Jordan na madungisan ang record ng Pilipinas.
