Prayoridad ngayon ng bagong upong hepe ng Bureau of Customs ang pagtugis sa mga sindikato na nasa likod ng malawakang smuggling sa bansa.
Matapos maitalaga ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos bilang bagong commissioner ng ahensya, sinabi ni Bienvenido Rubio na tututukan ng kaniyang liderato ang pagbabantay sa anumang uri ng pagpupuslit ng mga kontrabando.
Ilan sa mga hakbang na gagawin ni Rubio ang paghihigpit sa buwanang collection target ng BOC upang makapag-ambag ng mas malaking pananalaping panustos ng gobyerno sa mga makabuluhang programa at proyekto ng pamahalaan.
Plano din ng opisyal na padaliin ang mga umiiral na proseso upang mas mapalawak ang mga kalakalan.
“These priorities are – hit and surpass the revenue target, simplify and secure the facilitation of trade, curb smuggling of any form, and uplift the morale of the men and women of the Bureau of Customs,” saad ng commissioner.
Paglilinaw ni Rubio, itutuloy ng kanyang tanggapan ang mga magandang nasimulan ng pinalitang dating Commissioner na si Yogi Filemon Ruiz.
Bago maging hepe, dating nanilbihan si Rubio bilang Assessment and Operations Coordinating Group officer-in-charge ng Port Operations Service. Naging parte din siya ng Manila International Container Port-Customs Intelligence at Investigation Service.
