Nahaharap sa asunto ang sekretarya ni Negros Oriental 2nd district Rep. Arnolfo Teves Jr. at 5 pang iba kaugnay sa isinagawang raid ng mga awtoridad sa mga ari-arian ng mambabatas noong Marso 10.
Ito ay matapos marekober ng Philippine National Police – Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (PNP-CIDG) ang matataas na kalibre ng baril at granada sa paghain ng search warrants sa mga bahay na pagmamay-ari ni Teves sa Basay town at Bayawan City.
Dahil dito, sinampahan ng paglabag sa Republic Act (RA) 10591 o “Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act” ang sekretarya ni Teves na si Hannah Mae Oray, Heracleo Sangasin Oray, Rodolfo Teves Maturan at Joseph Kyle Catan Maturan.
Bukod sa unang nabanggit na kaso, nahaharap din sa paglabag sa RA 9516 o “Illegal possession of explosives ang mga tauhan na sina Jose Pablo Gimarangan at Ronald Aguisanda Pablio.
Kasalukuyang nasa kustodiya ng CIDG ang mga akusado matapos ihain ang mga kaso sa Department of Justice (DOJ) noong linggo.
Samantala, mahaharap din sa paglabag sa kasong RA 10591 at RA 9516 ang dalawang anak ni Teves na sina Kurt Matthew Teves at Axel na parehong wala noong araw na isinagawa ang nasabing raid, ayon sa CIDG.
