Tinanggihan muli ni House Speaker Martin Romualdez ang apela ni Negros Oriental Cong. Arnulfo Teves na dalawang buwang leave of absence sa Kamara.
Sa halip, hinikayat niya si Teves na umuwi na at harapin ang mga alegasyon laban sa kanya.
Una nang sinabi ni Romualdez na nakausap niya sa telepono si Teves at sinabi na wala siya dapat ikabahala para sa kanyang seguridad.
Inumpisahan na din ng House Ethics Committee ang pagdinig kung kailangan bang suspindihin o sibakin ang mambabatas dahil sa pagsuway nito sa utos ni House Speaker Romualdez.
Matatandaang si Teves ay itinuturo bilang isa sa utak sa likod nang pagpatay kay Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo.
Samantala, Pinakawalan naman ang dalawang aide ni Teves matapos hindi sila makitaan ng mga ebidensya nauugnay sa mga nakumpiskang loose firearms.
Idinagdag naman ng Philippine National Police sa kaso ang dalawang anak ng Kongresista na sina Kurt Matthew at Axl.
Ayon kay PNP spokesperson, Col. Jean Fajardo, sasamphan sila ng kasong illegal possession of firearms and explosives ang dalawang anak ni Teves.
