Nag anunsyo ang IT giant Accenture Huwebes (Marso 23) na magbabawas ito ng humigit kumulang 19,000 na trabaho sa loob ng 18 buwan bilang bahagi ng kanilang cost-cutting effort.
Ang nasabing numero ay kumakatawan sa 2.5 porsyento ng kanilang kabuuang workforce kung saan higit kalahati ng mga matatanggal ay magmumula sa non-billable corporate functions.
“While we continue to hire, especially to support our strategic growth priorities, during the second quarter of fiscal 2023, we initiated actions to streamline our operations…” saad ng Accenture sa kanilang paghain sa Securities and Exchange.
Inaasahan na magtatamo ng $1.5 bilyon na gastos ang kumpanya bilang resulta ng pagbabawas ng trabaho, kabilang ang $1.2 bilyon para sa mga empleyadong matatanggal.
“Accenture estimates $1.2 billion for severance and $300 million for consolidation of office space, with approximately $800 million expected in fiscal 2023 and $700 million in fiscal 2024,” saad nito.
Sa kabuuan, mayroong 721,000 empleyado ang tech giant base sa pinakahuling ulat nito noong 2022.
“We’re going after structural costs, right, to ensure that we’re in a better position,” wika ni chief executive officer Julie Sweet kahapon.
“We’ve been dealing with the difficult challenges of compounding wage inflation and we’ve been doing that with pricing but we’ve also been doing that with cost efficiencies and digitizing,” ani Sweet.
