Nakiisa sa isang relief-giving mission ang Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) sa pag abot ng tulong sa mga indibidwal at pamilyang naapektuhan ng oil spill sa katubigan ng Oriental Mindoro.
Namahagi ang state-run gaming agency ng 6,000 food at non-food packs para sa 3,000 na mga benepisyaryo mula sa munisipalidad ng Pola nitong Martes (Marso 28).
Ang bayan ng Pola –na pangingisda ang pangunahing kabuhayan – ay iniulat bilang pinaka apektado sa 14 na munisipalidad ng probinsya matapos umabot sa kanilang baybayin ang oil slick mula sa lumubog na M/T Princess.
Ang relief assistance ay tugon ng PAGCOR sa naging panawagan ng mission organizer president na si Princess Go ng NextGen Foundation Philippines, Inc. (NGFPI) na magpaabot ng tulong sa mga apektadong residente.
“We really needed all the help we can get to provide relief to those who were affected by this unfortunate incident. Thankfully, PAGCOR agreed to partner with us to make this humanitarian event happen,” ani Go.
Ang pamamahagi ng relief items sa mga benepisyaryo ay pinangunahan ni Municipal Mayor Jennifer Cruz sa pamilihang bayan ng Pola.
Kasama niya sa aktibidad ang mga PAGCOR officers sa pamumuno ni VP for Corporate Social Responsibility Group Ramon Stephen Villaflor at Asst. VP for Community Relations and Services Eric Balcos at mga representante mula sa NextGen at Oceanus Conservation.
