Inaresto sa ginawang entrapment operation ng kapulisan ang isang traffic aide ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority sa Maynila noong Biyernes dahil sa pangingikil ng P10,000 sa isang trucking company.
Ayon sa isang press statement, kinilala ang suspek na si Rey Gaza na naka-assign sa MMDA Northern Traffic Enforcement Division – Traffic Reaction Unit.
Nasamsam ng pulisya ang dalawang piraso ng marked P1,000 at boodle money; isang .45-caliber pistol; at isang magazine na may mga bala mula sa suspek.
Ayon sa nag reklamo na si Salvador Jecino, sinabi na si Gaza at ang kanyang mga kasabwat ang nangongolekta ng P10,000 na “payola” na pera bawat buwan mula noong 2019 “upang maiwasan ang abala at upang matiyak ang maayos na operasyon ng kanyang negosyo sa trucking at transport service.”
