Itinalaga ni Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos Jr. si Police Major General Benjamin Acorda bilang ang bagong hepe ng Philippine National Police (PNP).
Pinalitan ni Acorda si Gen. Rodolfo Azurin Jr. ngayong Lunes matapos nitong tumuntong sa mandatory age of retirement na 56.
“I am soliciting the support of everyone for I cannot do it alone. I ask for your cooperation, your support, and your commitment. Together, we will overcome the challenges the organization is facing,” wika ni Acorda sa kanyang talumpati.
“We will not rest until every Filipino feels secure in their homes, in their streets, and in their places of work,” dagdag nito.
