Arestado ang isang lalaki na nagbebenta umano ng mga online banking accounts na ginagamit sa mga illegal activities.
Ayon sa National Bureau of Investigation – Cybercrime Division, kanilang naaresto si John Mark Gaguis sa isang entrapment operation.
Ito’y matapos makatanggap ang NBI ng impormasyon na isang Facebook account na may pangalan na “KIYO HERBS” ay involved sa trafficking gamit ang dalawang lehitimong bangko.
Modus umano ng sindikato na gumawa ng lehitimong bank accounts gamit ang lehitimong pangalan ng mga tinatawag na “verifiers”.
Matapos ang mairehistro ang bank accounts ay ibebenta na ito sa mga taong gumagawa ng modus gaya ng online scams.
Matapos ang entrapment operation sa isang coffee shop sa Banawe, Quezon City, inilahad ni Gaguis ang mga account numbers buhat sa dalawang bangko kasama ang Facebook messenger accounts at SIM Cards.Nakatakda nang sampahan ng NBI ang suspek ng kaukulang kaso.
