Nag-observe si Vice-President Sara Duterte ng education system sa Brunei na posibleng i-adopt ng Pilipinas.
Binisita ni Duterte ang Sekolah Rendah Pusar Ulak, isang public school sa Brunei.
“Nakikita natin yung pagtuturo nila ng Quran sa kanilang mga learners. Magagamit natin yon doon sa ating mga eskuwelahan na nasa BARMM,” ani Duterte.
Si Duterte ay nasa Brunei bilang pangulo ng Southeast Asian Ministers of Education Organization.
“‘Yung facilities nila ay napakaganda dahil malaki ang facilities nila and then konti lang ‘yung class size nila which is ‘yun ‘yung ideal talaga,” dagdag ni Duterte.
Kamakailan ay iginiit ni Duterte ang importansiya ng pagpapatayo ng dagdag school buildings para matugunan ang pangangailangan ng mga kabataan.Samantala makakaharap ni Duterte sa Brunei ang mga opisyal ng SEAMEO Vocational and Technical Education and Training (VOCTECH). Nakatakda nilang talakayin ang mga strategies para mapataas pa ang kalidad ng edukasyon sa Southeast Asia.
