Asahan na ang karagdagang pagdating ng human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) antiretroviral drugs sa mga treatment facilities.
Ito ang tiniyak ng Department of Health (DOH) matapos magkaroon ng shortage ng nasabing gamot.
Particular na nagkaroon ng shortage ang Tenofovir-Lamivudine-Dolutegravir (TLD) dahil na din sa ito ang mas pinipili ngayon ng mga People Living with HIV (PLHIV).
Ito’y matapos kumalat ang balita na pinaka-epektibo sa lahat ng gamot ang TLD laban sa HIV.
“In accordance with the Philippine TLD Transition Plan, treatment-naive patients as well as those who developed adverse drug reactions in their current regimens (i.e., efavirenz) were prioritized for transition to TLD in 2020 to 2022,” ayon sa DOH.
Dahil dito ay siniguro ng DOH sa publiko na ang mga current stocks at mga paparating na gamot ay sapat na para tumagal ito hanggang April 2024.“The initial tranche (58,000 bottles) of the FY 2023 DOH-procured TLD is expected to arrive in the country by the end of June and is expected to cover all current patients, estimated new enrollees, and estimated shiftees based on the updated TLD transition plan until the rest of the tranches (Tranche 2: 243,000 bottles by July 2023 and Tranche 3: 292,000 bottles by September 2023) are delivered,” ayon pa sa DOH.
