Isang panukala na magbibigay ng lifetime ID Cards sa mga Persons with disabilities (PWD) ang inihain sa House of Representatives.
Layon ng House Bill 8440 ni Cagayan de Oro City Representative Lordan Suan na mas mapapadali ang pagkilala sa mga taong may kapansanan, mapatatag ang kanilang kaligtasan, at maisusulong ang pag-unlad ng isang mas inklusibo at pantay na lipunan.
“A lifetime ID card program for people with permanent disabilities is a tangible reminder that people with disabilities are valued members of our society and that their demands and accommodations should be addressed seriously,” ani Suan.
Bilang bahagi ng mga benepisyong ibinibigay sa mga PWD, sila ay mayroong 20% na diskuwento sa gamot, gastusin sa ospital, pagsusuri at laboratoryo, serbisyo sa hotel, restaurant, at mga lugar ng libangan, pati na rin ang lokal na paglalakbay panghimpapawid at pandagat.
Sila rin ay hindi kinakaltasan ng 12% na value-added tax (VAT) at may 5% na bawas sa mga pangunahing bilihin.Sa kasalukuyan, ang PWD ID ay kinakailangan na i-renew kada tatlong taon.
