Napanatili pa ni Typhoon Egay ang kaniyang lakas habang binabayo nito ang Dalupiri Island sa Cagayan umaga ng Miyerkules (July 26).
Sa briefing ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), sinabi ni weather specialist Loriden Galicia na parehong lakas pa si Egay sa kaniyang maximum sustained winds na 175 kilometers per hour malapit sa gitna at bugso na umaabot sa 240 kph.
Unang nag-landfall si Egay sa Fuga island 3:10 a’m. at ang ikalawang landfall sa Dalupiri Island 9:30 a.m.
“Egay continues to batter Northern Luzon, especially extreme Northern Luzon. We are hoping that by this time, communities that need to be evacuated are safe and far from coastal areas,” ani Galicia.
