BITAG and NGO-IBMI Shared Love at Tahanan ng Pagmamahal Orphanage

December 16, 2025 — NGO-IpaBITAGmo Inc. (IBMI) and the Bitag Multimedia Network (BMN) visited Tahanan ng Pagmamahal in Sagad, Pasig City, to check on the welfare of those often called ‘invisible children’ or orphans.

These ‘invisible children’ are those who are rarely seen by society, as their lives are spent within the walls of child-caring institutions.

More than just the reaching out activity, the visit served as a powerful reminder that no child, regardless of their past, should ever feel forgotten this Christmas Season.

A Sanctuary for Every Child
While often referred to as an orphanage, Tahanan ng Pagmamahal is more accurately described as a child-caring agency. According to Ms. Nila Valdez, the Executive Director of Tahanan ng Pagmamahal, the institution caters to children who fall into four major categories:

  • Abandoned: Those left without any known relatives.
  • Neglected: Children whose basic needs were not met by their families.
  • Surrendered: Children voluntarily given up by parents or relatives due to extreme poverty or crisis.
  • Foundlings: Children discovered with no known parents or origins.

“Local Government Units (LGUs) from various cities and provinces are the primary source of referrals and turnovers for most of the children in the facility”, Ms. Valdez added.

The atmosphere during the visit was deeply moving. The children warmly welcomed the team, calling the volunteers “Mommy” and “Daddy” which is a testament to their longing for parental affection. In return, the BITAG and NGO-IBMI team treated the little ones as their own, showing that love knows no blood relations.

To address the immediate needs of the 50 residents (including 12 babies and children aged 0-13), the facility was gifted with 50 sacks of 25kg rice for a steady food supply, 50 meal packs for the children and dedicated staff, and hygiene kits for the children’s health and well-being courtesy of One Sky Foundation.

Advocacy Beyond the Job
For BITAG, this mission was deeply personal. It emphasized that for the BITAG and NGO-IBMI advocates, charity is not “work”, instead, a lifelong commitment.

“We can easily relate to these children because of the cases we handle daily involving abuse and neglect. It is heartening to know there are institutions like this that are patient and full of heart. They are vital partners for BITAG whenever we encounter cases involving the welfare of children,”  Ms. Charms Mateo, BMUI’s VP for External and Legal Affairs said.

The day was filled with laughter as Ben ‘BITAG’  and other volunteers spent time playing and interacting with the kids, proving that presence is just as valuable as material gifts.

Strength in Partnership
The success of this mission was made possible through the collaboration of generous partners. NGO-IBMI and BMN extend their heartfelt gratitude to Digama Waste Management for their vital assistance in delivering the sacks of rice and OneSky Foundation, represented by Ms. Rita Buensalido, who joined the visit to meet the children and provide the essential hygiene kits.

Tahanan ng Pagmamahal continues its mission to raise these children as God-loving individuals, supported by a community that refuses to give up on them. Through the advocacy of NGO-IpaBITAGmo Inc. and BITAG Multimedia Network, the message this Christmas is clear: every child is seen, every child is loved, and no one is forgotten.
