Binatikos ng Chinese Embassy sa Manila ang ginawang pagbisita sa Pilipinas ni US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.
Sa pahayag na inilabas ng Chinese Embassy, nagpapalala la daw ito ng tensyon at nabubulabog lang din ang kapayapaan at kaayusan sa rehiyon.
“China always holds that defense and security cooperation between countries should be conducive to regional peace and stability, not target against any third party, even less to harm the interests of a third party. The United States, out of its self interests and zero-sum game mentality, continues to step up military posture in this region. Its actions escalate regional tension and undermine regional peace and stability,” ayon sa statement.
Tila nabahiran din daw ang China sa isyu ng South China Sea na ginagamit aniya na “Anti-China political agenda” ng Amerika.
“Such moves contradict the common aspiration of regional countries to seek peace, cooperation and development, and run counter to the common aspiration of the Filipino people to pursue sound economic recovery and a better life in cooperation with China. It is hoped that the Philippine side stays vigilant and resists from being taken advantage of and dragged into trouble waters,” dagdag pa ng Chinese Embassy-Manila.
Umaasa naman ang China na mapanatiling maging mapagmatyag ang Pilipinas, at iiwasang magpagamit sa nasabing isyu.
Dumating sa bansa noong Martes si Secretary Austin upang talakayin ang pagpapaigting sa Enhanced Defense Cooperation Agreement o EDCA na nagpapahintulot sa US military na magsagawa ng mga aktibidades at pasilidad sa iilang kampo sa bansa.
