Muling pinatawan ng 60-day suspension si Negros Oriental Rep. Arnolfo Teves sa House of Representatives.
Una nang pinatawan si Teves ng 60-day suspension noong March 22 dahil umano sa disorderly behaviour.
“After service of the penalty, our colleague Rep. A. Teves Jr. remains abroad, fails to perform his duties and responsibilities as Member of the House of Representatives, and commits acts detrimental to the House of Representatives and its Members,” ani COOP NATCCO Party List Rep. Felimon Espares.
“Hence, the Committee, for the second time around, exercised its motu proprio authority to assume jurisdiction over his continuous unauthorized absences in the House of Representatives.”
Si Teves ang Vice Chairman ng Committee on Games and Amusements at miyembro din ng Committee on Legislative Franchises and Nuclear Energy.
Ang muling pagsuspindi kay Teves ay rekomendasyon naman ng House Committee on Ethics and Privileges. Nahaharap sa kasong murder si Teves na may kinalaman sa pagpatay kay Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo kasama ang siyam na iba pa noong March 4.
