The Advocacy Continues: Rice for Over 900 Aeta Families in Capas, Tarlac

December 12, 2025 – Despite the extreme difficulty of the journey, the NGO-IpaBITAGmo Inc., in collaboration with the Bitag Multimedia Network (BMN), successfully reached the indigenous Aeta people in Capas, Tarlac to deliver donated rice to the Aeta community.

This advocacy portrays the BITAG’s deep compassion for our indigenous communities and commitment to defending the voiceless.

One hour Drive, Two hours Wall

The indigenous Aeta was located inside the CERAB Airbase in Capas, Tarlac. The route was taken by the NGO-IpaBITAGmo Inc. and Bitag Multimedia Network to reach the Aeta community in Sitio Alunan, Brgy. Sta. Juliana was challenging.

The trip took almost one hour to navigate the thick, bumpy road covered in Lahar and dusty air.

The initial estimate of 300 families, The NGO-IBMI and BITAG was surprised when  over 900 Aeta families from Seven Sitios showed up and welcomed the group with warm smiles and overwhelming acceptance.

The NGO-IBMI and BITAG team also discovered that the Aetas had walked for almost 2 hours down the mountain just for the chance to receive 5kgs of rice.

The Value of Rice

According to the Aeta Community, the rice is gold for them – a big help. It gives them the opportunity to eat something other than their daily staple of sweet potatoes and bananas.

The successful distribution of donated rice proves that despite the hardship and distance, advocacy and assistance will always prevail.
