As part of its continuing support to the health sector, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) donated boxes of assorted medicines for the residents of the Lone District of Eastern Samar on February 23, 2026.
The turnover ceremony, held at the PCSO Main Office, was led by Assistant General Manager for Charity Sector, Atty. Lauro A. Patiag, and Medical Services Department (MSD) Manager, Dr. Clarissa B. Ferrer. The medicines were received by Political Affairs Officer Joel Banauan on behalf of Rep. Sheen Gonzales.
PCSO emphasized the importance of providing such assistance to Eastern Samar, an island province where access to healthcare services remains limited for many communities.
Through this initiative, PCSO seeks to address urgent medical needs, especially during periods of illness and shortages of essential medicines. The agency also continues to ensure that vulnerable populations receive timely support and access to necessary healthcare resources.
This effort forms part of PCSO’s ongoing nationwide initiatives to assist local government units, particularly in strengthening the country’s health sector. It also aligns with the priority programs of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to enhance healthcare services and promote the welfare of Filipinos, especially those who are most in need.
