ISANG TROPICAL CYCLONE NA NAMAN ANG NAMATAAN NG PAGASA

Hindi pa man nakakalampas sa hagupit ni typhoon Egay ang Pilipinas, isa na naming tropical stor ang namataan ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).

Ayon sa PAGASA, namataan ang nasabing tropical cyclone 1,585 km east ng Eastern Visayas ngunit ito ay nasa labas pa ng Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR). 

“It has no direct effect on any part of the country yet. It could possibly enter PAR between Saturday night and Sunday,” ani PAGASA assistant weather services chief Chris Perez.

Samantala si Egay ay nasa labas na ng PAR ngunit mararamdaman pa ang hangin nito sa ilang bahagi ng Luzon.

Huling namantaan si Egay 255 kilometers west ng Itbayat, Batanes. Taglay nito ang maximum sustained winds na 150 kilometers per hour at bugso na aabot sa 185 kph.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 ay nakataas pa sa Batanes, northwestern portion ng Cagayan (Claveria, Santa Praxedes) kasama na ang Babuyan Islands at northern portion ng Ilocos Norte (Pagudpud, Adams, Bangui, Dumalneg, Burgos).

“These areas may experience flooding, especially in low-lying areas. Strong winds could damage old and light materials,” ani Perez.

Ang mga areas naman na nasa Signal No. 1 ay Pangasinan, La Union, Ilocos Sur, Ilocos Norte, Cagayan, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Abra, Benguet, Isabela, Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, northern portion ng Aurora (Casiguran, Dinalungan, Dilasag), northern portion ng Nueva Ecija (Cuyapo, Guimba, Pantabangan, Science City ng Muñoz, Carranglan, San Jose City, Lupao, Nampicuan, Talugtug), at northern portion ng Tarlac (Paniqui, Moncada, Pura, Camiling, Ramos, San Manuel, Anao, San Clemente).
