Mixed martial arts legend Jon Jones did not mince words when he was asked to react to Francis Ngannou’s tweet after the former claimed the vacant UFC heavyweight title on Sunday (Manila Time).
With Jone’s comeback victory, the former heavyweight champion Ngannou was quick to write a sarcastic congratulatory message to the American fighter on his Twitter account.
“Good job Jonny boy. Sincerely, The heavyweight king,” Ngannou tweeted.
Jones (27-1) at UFC 285 stormed back from a three-year layoff after forcing Ciryl Gane into submission via guillotine choke less than three minutes into the first round.
During a post-fight press conference, Jones was told about the tweet and asked for his reaction.
“Francis is a big old p- – – y, he said. ” “I love that quote. I love it. All that muscle, with a big ass p***y. Excuse me. I’m so sorry.,” Jones added.
Ngannou was expected to clash with Jones, however, the Cameroonian fighter parted ways with the UFC after several failed negotiations in January.
Ngannou (17-3) last stepped inside the octagon in January 2022 where he also defeated Gane via unanimous decision.
With Ngannou never returning to UFC as confirmed by Dana White, Jones directed his attention to ex-champion Stipe Miocic for his next fight.
“Stipe Miocic, I hope you’re training, my guy. You’re the greatest heavyweight of all time, and that’s what I want. I want you. Real bad,” said Jones during his octagon interview with Joe Rogan after the fight.
