MALAYSIAN POGO WORKER, SAVED FROM ILLEGAL DETENTION

PBGen Jonnel C Estomo, NCRPO Acting Regional Director, extolled Southern Police District (SPD) for the successful rescue of a Malaysian national allegedly detained illegally by his employer at Dexin 999 Building, 236 7th flr. Montillano St., Brgy. Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

According to Estomo, the operation was conducted at about 10:30 P.M. of September 28, 2022 which resulted in the arrest of the suspect identified as Qian Jing, a Chinese national.

The victim started to work as a POGO employee last June 2021. Two months later, his employer, Qian Jing, began to severe his salary, deprived him of his liberty and did not allow him to go out of the building and further threatened him if he will report the matter to the authorities.

Luckily, the victim managed to make a phone call to her mother in Malaysia last September 26, 2022 informing what happened to him.

The information reached the Malaysian authorities. Hence, a joint rescue operation of the SPD together with the Malaysian Royal Police led to the arrest of the suspect.

The said company was not able to present any Business Permit authorizing them to operate.

Police authorities found out that seven (7) other foreigners signified their intention to return to their country and are no longer interested to work in the said company.

Complaint for Serious Illegal Detention is being prepared against the suspect for Inquest at the City Prosecutor’s Office of Muntinlupa,
