Tinuldukan na ni Pangulong Ferdinand Bongbong Marcos ang pakikipag-ugnayan ng bansang Pilipinas sa International Criminal Court (ICC).
Ito ay matapos ibasura ng ICC ang apela ng Pilipinas na suspendihin ang pag-iimbestiga nila sa drug war ng nakaraang administrasyon.
Ayon pa sa pangulo tuluyan na rin nating isasara ang pakikipag-ugnayan sa ICC at iginiit na hindi siya makikipagtulungan dito dahil wala umano hurisdiksyon ang nasabing korte sa bansa.
“The appeal has failed and in our view, there is nothing more that we can do and the government. So at this point, we, essentially, are disengaging from any contact, from any communication, I guess, with the ICC,” ani Marcos.
“We ended up in the same position that we started with and that is we cannot cooperate with the ICC considering the very serious question about their jurisdiction and about what we consider to be interference and practically attacks on the sovereignty of the republic,”
Noong Lunes, naglabas ng desisyon ang Appeals Chamber of the International Criminal Court na tanggihan ang hiling ng Pilipinas ng suspendihin ang imbestigasyon sa war on drugs ng administrasyon ni dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.
