Muling nanawagan ang Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) sa publiko – mapa-lokal man o dayuhan — na maging mapagmatyag sa mga naglilipanang illegal online gaming site.
Nagbabala ang ahensya matapos maiulat na ang website na www.starspangled200.org ay ginamit ng mga fraudster bilang link sa kanilang illegal gambling website na umano’y nag-o-operate sa Pilipinas.
Sa Maryland, USA, lehitimo at totoo ang website na www.starspangled200.org. Katunayan, naka-print ito sa halos 800,000 registered vehicle plates doon na naglalayong i-promote ang kasaysayan ng Maryland. Subalit, sinasamantala at ginagamit ito ngayon panlilang ng mga sindikato.
Ayon kay PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro Tengco, kapag iki-click mo ang URL na www.starspangled200.org ay mare-redirect ka https://www.globeinternational.info/. Sadyang ginamit ng mga fraudster bilang illegal gambling platform na hindi lamang labag sa karapatan ng bawat naglalaro kundi nalalagay rin sa masamang imahe ang bansang Pilipinas.
“PAGCOR has nothing to do with the said websites, as well as the gaming activities happening therein. As the country’s gaming regulator, PAGCOR does not condone illegal online gambling. Engaging or betting on illegal gambling activities is not only a criminal act; it also takes away from the government billions of pesos in revenues which can be used to fund priority programs that will benefit a greater number of Filipinos. Hence, we have been continuously working with various government and law enforcement agencies to ensure that our gaming policies are in place and the online gaming platforms that we regulate are safe and credible,” ayon kay Tengco.
“We have referred this matter to our Security and Monitoring Cluster for investigation. The website was also referred to the appropriate government agency for immediate action,” dagdag pa ng PAGCOR Chairman.
Apela ni Tengco sa mga gaming aficionado, tanging sa mga licensed online-based gaming platform lang maglaro upang hindi mapahamak.
