Pinulong ng Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) ang mga transport groups at iba pang stakeholders para balangkasin ang alituntunin ukol sa body-worn cameras ng mga traffic enforcers.
Ayon kay MMDA acting chairman Don Artes, ang mga body cameras na may video at audio recording feature ay magsisilbing proteksyon sa traffic enforcers at mahuhuling mga motorista.
“The use of body-worn cameras will prevent traffic enforcers from taking bribes and motorists offering bribes since the Metrobase will record the apprehension process. The footage may serve as evidence,” pahayag ni Artes sa isang press statement.
Kasama din sa pinag-usapan ang mga salita na dapat bigkasin ng mga enforcers sa tuwing sila ay may sisitahin.
“We want to hear the comments and suggestions of the stakeholders before its full implementation,” ani Artes.Ang nasabing pagpupulong ay dinaluhan nina 1-Rider Party-List Rep. Bonifacio Bosita, mga public transport groups, motorcycle riders’ associations, automobile associations, Philippine National Police-Highway Patrol Group, Metro Manila local government units at mga concerned government agencies.
