Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) General Manager Melquiades Robles was recognized as “Champion of the Urban Poor” by the Presidential Commission for the Urban Poor during a courtesy visit on January 19, 2026, at the PCSO Main Office in Mandaluyong City.

The recognition, conferred under the Office of the President, cited Robles’ leadership in PCSO and enduring commitment to uplifting urban poor communities through inclusive social services and expanded access to medical and social assistance, advancing the marginalized sectors.

It was originally granted during the National Capital Region Celebration of the Urban Poor Solidarity Week 2025 with the theme, “Sama sama sa Pag- ALPAS sa Bagong Pilipinas.”

The recognition served as a highlight of PCSO’s ongoing mission to support the government’s social protection agenda and reaffirms the agency’s role as a partner in building a more inclusive and compassionate Bagong Pilipinas.
