The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) conducted a turnover ceremony on February 25, 2026, at the PCSO Main Office along Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City, where essential items, including emergency rescue kits, were officially handed over to Barangay 9, Zone 1, District 2, Caloocan City.
The ceremony was led by Arnel Casas, Assistant General Manager for the Management Services Sector of PCSO, who formally handed over the equipment to Barangay Chairman Edwin Galvez and SK Chairperson Eljay Celestino.
Chairman Galvez and SK Chairperson Celestino expressed their heartfelt appreciation to PCSO, noting that the equipment will significantly enhance the community’s preparedness and ability to respond to emergencies, especially during calamities and unforeseen incidents.
The rescue and emergency kits provided include oxygen tanks, handheld radios, search lights, rescue helmets, rescue ropes, stretchers, life jackets, and trauma bags containing complete first aid supplies. These tools are expected to strengthen the barangay’s capability to deliver timely and efficient emergency assistance to its residents.
This initiative forms part of PCSO’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, which aim to deliver inclusive support to Local Government Units (LGU’s) to bolster their readiness during calamities.
