PCSO, PHILRACOM BOOST HORSE RACING INDUSTRY WITH 2026 3Y/O MAIDEN STAKES RACE

With a shared goal of strengthening the country’s horse racing industry, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) and the Philippine Racing Commission (PHILRACOM) mounted the 2026 PCSO–PHILRACOM 3-Year-Old (3YO) Maiden Stakes Race on February 1, 2026 at the Horsemen’s Track in Padre Garcia, Batangas.

Diamante delivered a commanding performance, breaking cleanly from the gate and settling into a favorable position early before taking control midway through the race. The young contender surged in the final stretch and clocked 1:27 to claim the maiden stakes title. Roukei Player finished second at 1:31.

Owned by Benjamin Abalos Jr., Diamante was ridden by jockey Patricio R. Dilema, who guided the horse to a clear victory over a competitive field. Horse trainer Claudio Angeles received the trophy at the podium on behalf of Mr. Abalos.

The awarding ceremony was attended by PCSO representative Atty. Lyssa Grace S. Pagano, Assistant General Manager for the Gaming Sector, along with PHILRACOM Chairman Aurelio De Leon and other PHILRACOM commissioners, reflecting continued institutional support for the sport.

A guaranteed ₱1.5-million prize sponsorship was jointly provided by PCSO and PHILRACOM for the race, underscoring their ongoing partnership to help sustain and develop the local horse racing industry.
