Nagmula sa sumabog na baterya ng kotse ang pinagmulan ng sunog sa Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost).
Ito ang lumabas sa imbestigasyon ng Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
“Moreover, the presence of the internal short circuit, the hydrogen and the volatile gases contained in the battery and the presence of oxygen as the oxidizing agent initiated the ignition,” ayon sa report ng BFP,” ani statement ng BFP.
Aabot sa halos P300 million ang damage ng sunog kung saan kabilang sa mga nasira ay mga sulat, court documents at ilang mga parcels sa sunog na naganap noong May 21 at naapaula matapos ang 30 oras.Ayon kay Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) President Wick Veloso, naka-insure ang PhilPost sa halagang P604 million.
