Kinilala at binigyan karangalan ng senado si Carlos Edriel Yulo bilang isa sa mga pinakamagaling na gymnast sa bansa matapos ang sunod-sunod nitong tagumpay sa mga pandaigdigang torneyo.
Ayon kay Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri, gumawa ng kasaysayan si Yulo sa pagkapanalo nito sa mga kompetisyon tulad ng World Artistic Gymnastics, Southeast Asian Games, All-Japan Seniors Championship, World Gymnastics Championships, at marami pang iba.
“We are honored to salute this young man who at just 22 years has already become one of our most accomplished and decorated gymnasts,” ani Zubiri sa kanyang sponsorship speech kahapon, Feb. 6.
“Carlos Yulo’s triumph in the global arena has brought pride, glory and inspiration to the Filipino people and has repeatedly proven to the world the persistent and indomitable spirit of the Filipino, for which he deserves to be honored and commended,” dagdag ni Zubiri.
Nagbigay din ng pagpupuri si Senate Majority Leader Joel Villanueva kay Yulo.
Ayon kay Villanueva, si Yulo ay isang inspirasyon sa maraming atletang Pilipino.
“He is an inspiration to all of us, especially to millions of young aspiring athletes. He has time and again made the country proud for his world-class talent, determination and unwavering commitment to excellence as shown in his impressive performance in these competitions,” Villanueva said.
