“Remember the lesson, not the mistake…”
Ito ang matalinhagang payo ni Vice President at Education Secretary Sara Duterte sa kontrobersyal na collegiate cager na si John Anthony Amores.
Si Amores ang sinuspindeng forward player ng Jose Rizal University (JRU) Heavy Bombers matapos pagsusuntukin ang ilang player ng College of St. Benilde (CSB) Blazers sa kanilang laban sa National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) game noong Nobyembre 8.
Sa kanyang social media post, ibinahagi ni Amores ang makabagbag damdaming payo sa kanya ng VP Duterte.
“Remember the lesson, not the mistake. You have a friend from the Office of the Vice President,” ganito raw ang bungad sa sulat sa kanya ni Duterte.
Halos matunaw ang damdamin ni Amores dahil sa kabila aniya ng estado ng bise presidente ay bukas-loob itong magbahagi ng payo at words of wisdom sa mga katulad niyang ordinaryong Filipino.
“It was a great honor, Ma’am. Thank you for those words of encouragement,” pasasalamat ni Amores.
Aniya, “Ipapa-frame ko ‘to as a remembrance na sa dami ng bashers at negative critics may isang tao na ipapa-alala sayo na mahalaga ka kahit ‘di mo kaano-ano. I won’t lose hope. Somewhere in between in the darkest season of my life there’s still a light.”
Tinanggal bilang manlalaro ng JRU Heavy Bombers si Amores at suspendido rin ito sa kanyang mga klase sa Jose Rizal University.
