Tinabla ng transport group ang Department of Transportation (DOTr) sa hinihingi nitong dayalogo bago ikasa ng grupo ang isang linggo nilang tigil pasada sa susunod na linggo.
Ayon kay Mar Valbuena, Presidente ng Transport group na ‘MANIBELA’ hindi na daw muna nila haharapin ang hinihiling ng DOTr na dayalogo o pag-uusap bago nila isagawa ang strike.
“Wala na munang diyalogo, I will stand on my ground. Tuloy na lang namin ito, kung ganyang nagyayabangan na lang tayo. Subukan po natin sa Lunes, subukan po natin ng isang linggo magkakaalaman po tayo,” sabi ni Valbuena.
Sakaling matuloy ang tigil-pasada sa susunod na linggo, inaasahang nasa 200,000 na pasahero sa Metro Manila ang maaapektuhan.
Ganunpaman, nakahanda naman daw ang DOT dahil kasalukuya na daw silang nakikipag-usap sa iba’t iba’t iban sektor para sa libreng sakay.
“Mayroon kaming arrangement with other sectors, for example ‘yung Coast Guard, available ‘yung mga sasakyan, other government agencies, ‘yung MMDA, madami namang susupport sa atin,” saad ni Bautista.
Samantala, hinimok naman ng mga senador na ipagpaliban muna ng Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board o LTFRB ang pag-phase-out sa mga tradisyunal na jeepney.
Kasunod nito, nag file si Senator Grace Poe ng Senate Resolution no. 507 o ang pag-postpone ng planong pag phaseout ng mga tradisyunal na jeepneys hanggang June 30, 2023.
“I think that it is crucial that we hear this as soon as possible. Hopefully we can come up with a resolution so that the strike will not push through by Monday next week,” ayon sa senadora. “It’s a national concern because we would like to abort the nationwide strike. [The] June 30 [deadline] is not a reasonable deadline,” dagdag pa nito.
Nakatakdang isagawa ang 1-week strike mula Marso 6 hanggang Marso 12, 2023.
