Umaasa si Pangulong Ferdinand Marcos na isusulong at mapapaunlad ng mga kabataang magsasaka o millennial farmers ang sektor ng agrikultura sa bansa.
Sa isinagawang ceremonial signing ng memorandum of agreement sa Kapatid Angat Lahat for Agriculture Program (KALAP) program sa Malakanyang kahapon, nangako rin ang pangulo ng tulong at suporta sa mga maliliit na magsasaka at mangingisda sa aspetong pinansyal at kaalaman. Kakatuwangin ng pamahalaan ang mga malalaking negosyante sa agribusiness sector.
“Our millennial farmers are using the best technologies with the complete support of a value chain that supports them and that supports their needs and is producing for our country and making our country safe, making our country secure, and making our country a viable player in the international market,” ayon sa pangulo.
Binigyang diin naman ni Marcos na ang KALAP na inilunsad ng Go Negosyo ay naglalayon na mahikayat ang malalaking korporasyon na tulungan ang mga micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
Layunin ng programang KALAP na mabigyan ng disenteng buhay ang mga magsasakang Pilipino, isulong ang inclusive economic growth sa pamamagitan ng GO Negosyo at bigyang suporta ang micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) upang maging globally competitive ang bansa.
Inaasahang din na mas paiigtingin ng KALAP ang kooperasyon sa pagitan ng pribadong sektor at ahensya ng pamahalaan, kabilang ang Department of Agriculture (DA), Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG), Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) at Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
Sa ilalim ng KALAP, magsisilbing “big brother” ang mga malalaking korporasyon at gagabay sa ang mga bagong henerasyon o millennial farmers na mapalago ang kanilang kabuhayan at mabigyan sila ng access pagdating sa mentorship, financial at market.
