QUEZON CITY, Philippines — On March 2, 2026, Ben BITAG and the Non-government organization Ipabitagmo Inc. visited the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) to formalize a stronger collaboration for the poor and oppressed.
For many Filipinos, the cost of a lawyer is a barrier to justice they simply cannot climb. To bridge this gap, BITAG and the NGO-IBMI have strengthened their long-standing tie-up with PAO Chief Dr. Persida Rueda-Acosta. This collaboration is more than just a meeting; it is a promise to the underprivileged that they will always have a voice.
Using Technology to Help More People
Ben BITAG introduced the “BITAG Next Generation.” He explained that BITAG is now using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to study and research further all the complaints they receive online. This helps them understand who needs legal help the most, so they can guide them to the right office.
“Many people come to BITAG because they need advice or defense, but they don’t know where to go,” Ben BITAG said.
The Heart of the Mission
Ms. Apple Meneses, Executive Director of NGO-IBMI, explained that their work is fueled by three things: Compassion, Empowerment, and Action.
While Bitag Media (BMUI) provides the media “muscle,” NGO-IBMI acts as the “heart.” With nearly 100 people visiting their action center every day, many are victims of abuse, fraud, and neglect. Because these individuals often cannot afford legal fees, the NGO-IBMI refers them to the Public Attorney’s Office (PAO) for free, professional legal defense.
“No Man is an Island”
PAO Chief Dr. Persida V. Rueda-Acosta warmly welcomed the partnership, noting that BITAG and PAO have been allies for decades. She urged the team to send referrals immediately so her office can take action for FREE.
“We should be coordinating with NGOs and media groups as part of a holistic approach to improving our justice system,“ Dr. Acosta said. “No man is an island… we have to work together for the benefit of the oppressed and the poor.”
The PAO has specialized lawyers ready to help:
- Farmers and Laborers
- Women and Children
- Seniors and PWDs
- Indigenous Peoples
A Stronger Force for Justice
This partnership aims to make public service faster and more effective. By combining the reach of BITAG, the heart of NGO-IBMI, and the legal power of PAO, the underprivileged in society no longer have to fight their battles alone.
Through truth and advocacy, these organizations continue to prove that justice is not just for those who can afford it—it is for everyone.
