22-year-old Filipino gymnast Carlos Edriel Yulo finished with a silver medal in the men’s vault category of the 2022 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships held in Liverpool, England, last Sunday, Nov. 6.
Yulo, who dominated the event last year, fell short this time and settled for a final score of 14.950 against Armenia’s vault gymnast Artur Daytyan who outscored him with a combined jump of 15.050.
Meanwhile, Ukraine’s Igor Radikilov bagged the bronze medal with a tallied score of 14.733.
Apart from a silver medal, Yulo settled for a bronze in the parallel bars with a total score of 15.366.
China’s three-time world champion Zou Jingyuan, won the gold after scoring an impressive 16.166 points, followed by silver medalist Lukas Dauser of Germany tallied a score of 15.500. Yulo also failed to secure a spot on the podium after finishing eighth in the all-around final and seventh in the floor exercises event.
